In order to strengthen schools through community and private-sector involvement, the Ministry of Education has launched vidyanjali initiative. Through this initiative, schools will be connected with varied volunteers from the Indian diasporas like young professionals, School alumni, in-service and retired teachers, government officials, professionals, and many others. This initiative has two aspects for the volunteers: first is participating in the school service and activities and another one is supporting Government and government-aided schools through assets/material/equipment. Through the Vidyanjali 2.0 Portal, community volunteers can interact and connect directly with the government and government-aided schools so that they can share their knowledge and skills and contribute in the form of assets, materials, and equipment.
Objective Of Vidyanjali 2.0 Portal
The main objective of Vidyanjali 2.0 Portal is to strengthen the schools through community and private sector involvement. This initiative connects the varied volunteers like professionals, school alumni, in service and retired teachers, etc to the schools. The volunteers can connect with the schools in two forms. First through participating in the school service and activities and other through supporting Government and government-aided schools through asset or material or equipment which will strengthen the infrastructure of the Government schools. Other than that the volunteers can share their knowledge and skills which will help students in their career choices. This scheme will also improve the standard of education which will ultimately improve the employment rate. The volunteers are required to conduct themselves professionally in their relationship.

Contribution Made By The Volunteer Under Vidyanjali Initiative
Depending upon the area of interest and expertise of volunteers the volunteers can contribute to service or activity at a school. Other than that the volunteer can also contribute to assets, materials, or equipment. The category of assets, materials, or equipment can be civil infrastructure, basic electrical infrastructure, classroom support, materials and equipment, digital infrastructure equipment for extracurricular activities, etc. The contribution cannot be in the form of monetary support. Volunteers can make contributions in partial or complete form.

Termination Of Service Of Volunteers
- When the services are no longer required
- In case of inappropriate behavior of volunteer
- Noncompliance of volunteer methodology

- Promotion of any divisive or other ideologies which is not conductive for young mind
- Harming the safety and security of the children
- Appropriate legal action will be taken against the volunteer whose service has been terminated and is still continuing to act as a volunteer

- Donated infrastructure should be in working condition
- All the contributions made by the volunteer in the form of assets, material and equipment should be at least BIS marked
- The services and activities should be purely academic or co-curricular in nature
- The permanent teachers are required to supervise and monitor the academic activities carried by volunteers
- The volunteers are also required to submit brief profile highlight
- The volunteer is required to submit an identity proof before rendering his or her services
- A circular will be issued by state and union territories which will include inter alia, safety guidelines, standard specification for contribution in assets/ material/equipment and recognition to individual, organisation and NGOs contributing in any kind above a specified financial limit

- The volunteer is required to follow the strict confidentiality
- Volunteers can not reveal to any person or organization or on social media platforms the confidential information of their activities, their works and policies
- The schools, state, union territory, or Central government are not bound to pay any remuneration to the volunteers
- The rights to revise the terms and conditions in respect of contribution by volunteers are with the department of school education and literacy, Ministry of Education
- The volunteers are required to conduct themselves professionally in their relationship
- Volunteers have to submit a report of their work Prior to discontinuation or dissociation from school
- The volunteer cannot claim any employment in the school of ministry/department
- Volunteers cannot claim the period of work as full-time work experience
- Any kind of certificate issued by the school for acknowledgment and appreciation cannot be claimed as experience certificate
