Rythu Bandhu Scheme Implementation Strategy
- The government’s Land Record Upgradation Programme (LRUP), which unified disparate data sources on farmers’ ownership of agricultural land, was implemented prior to the Rythu Bandhu Scheme.
- In accordance with the LRUP, the Revenue Department examined and updated every farmer’s land holding record in the state of Telangana.
- Under this plan, qualifying farmers were awarded Pattadar passbooks for land ownership by the Revenue Department based on property holding data.
- A list of 72 lakh eligible farmers was first compiled by the government based on a survey conducted by the Revenue Department. Later on, though, more farmers were added to the list.
- In Telangana, agriculture provides a living for about 55% of the population. As a result, the 31 districts covered by this plan total 1.42 crore acres.
- In order to determine whether a farmer who got the scheme payment has sown the crop or not, some 5,000 agriculture extension officials and village revenue officers will inspect and confirm.
- The government is providing farmers with updated Pattadar Dharani passbooks that include ownership, purchase, and sale information, in addition to a cheque verifying the Rythu Bandhu amount. With 17 impenetrable security mechanisms, the new passbook is safe.
- Following the payment of the eleventh installment of the Rythu Bandhu scheme, the Telangana government has contributed a total of Rs. 72,910 crore to the project thus far.
