The government has announced the opening of a website where gifts and mementos given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi can be sold online. The fifth round of the PM memento e-auction was officially launched on Monday by Meenakshi Lekhi, the Union Minister of State for Culture. The auction’s offerings range from 100 items to 64 lakh rupees for a Paresh Maity artwork. Compared to almost 7,000 items in the previous four editions, this edition’s e-auction will have 912 items. The highest bid for a painting of the Banaras Ghat is 64,80,000 rupees, according to the auction website PM Mementos. Other souvenirs include artwork, regional handicrafts, intricate sculptures, and intriguing folk. 150 of them are currently on display at the National Gallery of Modern Art in the capital, and all of them are slated for sale this year.
