Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot introduced Nishulk Uniform Vitran Yojana to provide two sets of uniform fabric to students of government schools in Rajasthan, from classes 1 to 8. The education department will supply the fabric to 64,479 schools across the state. Along with the fabric, ₹200 will be sent directly to each student’s bank account to get their uniforms stitched.
About 116,828 students in the district alone will get uniform material under this scheme.

How Will Payment for Stitching Be Made?
Under the scheme, ₹200 will be directly transferred into each student’s bank account to cover the stitching cost. If a child does not have a bank account, the amount will be sent to their family’s account.
This financial support is aimed at the approximately 116,000 students from classes 1 to 8 in the district who qualify.

Fabric Distribution at District and Block Level
The uniform fabric has almost fully arrived at district and block levels across the state. Free uniforms will be given only to students enrolled in classes 1 to 8 by August 30, 2024.
The fabric packets will be distributed through the office of Primary Education Officers — PEEO in rural areas and UCEEO in urban areas.
Budget Allocation for Nishulk Uniform Vitran Yojana
The government has set aside ₹1400 crore for this free uniform scheme. ₹200 per student will be transferred to their bank accounts.
Through this scheme, about 70 lakh students will get uniform fabric. For example, in Bhilwara district alone, 2,88,000 children will benefit with a budget of ₹5,76,36,800.
