Overview of YSR Law Nestham Scheme 2025

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, started the YSR Law Nestham Scheme to provide financial support to junior advocates and lawyers. Under this scheme, registered junior advocates receive Rs 5000 every month as a stipend for three years after starting their law practice. This money helps cover their basic expenses while they build their careers.

The government updates the list of beneficiaries, and only lawyers on this list can get the stipend. The scheme opens applications every three months – in March, June, September, and December – so lawyers can apply during these times on the official website.

Recent Payment Update (December 2024)

The first payment for 2,677 junior advocates was released recently. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy credited Rs 25,000 each, covering February to June 2024. The stipend is Rs 5000 monthly. These three years of support start from the time advocates get their enrollment certificate.

Each advocate receives Rs 60,000 yearly, which adds up to Rs 1.8 lakh over three years. The Andhra Pradesh government also set up a welfare trust fund of Rs 100 crore for advocates, managed by the advocate general. This fund helps with loan repayment and medical insurance, showing the government’s support for lawyers.
