YSR Kanti Velugu Scheme 2024
The YSR Kanti Velugu Scheme is a free mass eye check-up scheme that is implemented by the concerned government of Andhra Pradesh. Through the implementation of the scheme, many incentives will be provided to all the beneficiaries of the scheme. One of the main benefits which will be provided to all of the beneficiaries will be the availability of free eye check-ups for the applicants. The scheme was launched on 10th October in Anantapur District on the occasion of “World Sight Day”.

Phase Wise Screening Schedule
The
following dates are important while applying for the scheme:-

Process For Preliminary Screening Under The Scheme
- There are 62459 schools with 7041988 children
- All these children will be screened for the identification of defective vision
- This screening will be carried out in the school by the preliminary screening team
- This team will consist of Public Health staff and one Asha worker
- For urban areas, the preliminary team will consist of 1 PHS and one urban Asha
- RBSK staff and vehicles will be utilized for urban areas
- This team is required to screen around 200 to 250 students per day
- The team will be trained for conducting the screening
- The team will be provided with material for screening and a data sheet for noting the results of the screening
- After completion of screening the data will be handed over to the respective ANMs
- After the receipt of data, the ANM is required to upload the data at PHC
Preparation Of Micro Action Plan
- The micro Action plan will be prepared in order to utilize the resources accurately
- PHC will be the basic unit for the preparation of a micro Action plan
- This action plan will consist of the constitution of preliminary screening teams and allocation of schools to the teams
- The school will be allocated a team based on the number of students
- The medical officer will monitor the screening process
- The quality of screening will be ensured by PHC medical officer
Monitoring And Supervision Under The Scheme
- Deputy DMHO, DTCO, additional DMHO, etc will be allocated with the PHC in order to supervise and monitor the scheme
- This officer will prepare the micro Action plan
- If officers are not satisfied with the quality of the preliminary screening then they can schedule the screening again with consultation with the District committee
- Mobility support will also be provided to the supervisory officer for a period of 15 days
Training And Data Management Plan
- Training will be conducted for deputy DMHO
- Other than that for all the staff involved the preliminary training will be conducted
- A dedicated website for uploading the information will be launched and made available
- The credentials for login and uploading the data will be provided to ANM level and medical officer level
- It is also mandatory to upload the PHC level micro Action Plan on the website
- District level micro Action Plan will also be uploaded on the website
- It is the responsibility of ANM to immediately upload the data on the receipt of the data sheet from the preliminary screening team

Screening Process under Kanti Velugu Scheme
The
screening will be done by 500 teams that have been appointed by the concerned
authorities of the Andhra Pradesh government. The screening will be done by
31st July 2020. The following numbers of beneficiaries will be benefited:-
- During the second phase,
1,34,252 children with vision defects were identified - 56,767 spectacles were
distributed - 77,485 other cases are under
evaluation. - During the first phase,
66,15,467 children were covered - 4,36,979 children identified
with eye problems.
