Through this scheme, the government is going to provide various kinds of assistance to help the daughters of poor parents, orphan girls, widows who remarry, widowed daughters marriage, or inter-caste married couples. There are 5 types of schemes that the government has launched under the Tamil Nadu marriage assistance scheme. These schemes also encourage parents to educate their daughters till the right age because the government has fixed educational criteria in order to take benefit of these schemes. The government also provides gold coins through these schemes. In order to take benefit from these schemes the annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs 72000

The main objective of the Tamil Nadu Marriage Assistance Scheme is to provide financial assistance at the time of marriage so that the family of bride can be able to bear the expenses of marriage. Types of Tamil Nadu Marriage Assistance Scheme
Moolvalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninavu Marriage Assistance Scheme-
Through this scheme financial assistance of Rs 25000 or Rs 50000 is provided to the beneficiary. Financial assistance of Rs 25000 is provided when the bride has studied class 10th (the bride should have studied class 5th in the case of the scheduled tribe). If the bride is a degree holder from a regular college or distant education or government-recognized open university or a diploma holder from the institution recognized by the directorate of technical education government of Tamil Nadu then the bride will get Rs 50000 as financial assistance. In order to take benefit of this scheme annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 72000
Dr Dharmambal Amaiyar Ninaivu Widow Remarriage Assistance Scheme-
The benefit of this scheme will be provided to those widows who remarry. Through this scheme financial assistance of Rs 25000 is provided. Out of which Rs 15000 is provided through direct benefit transfer and Rs 10000 as national saving certificate along with 4 gram of 22-carat gold coin for making Thirumangalyam. All those beneficiaries who have a degree or diploma will be provided a total benefit of Rs 50000 out of which Rs 30000 is given through direct benefit transfer and Rs 20,000 is given as a national saving certificate along with 4 gram 22-carat gold coin for making Thirumangalam. There is no income ceiling or educational qualification prescribed in order to get the benefit of this scheme.
E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme for Daughters of Poor Widows-
The benefit of this scheme is extended to the daughters of poor widows. Through this scheme financial assistance of Rs 25000 is provided to those beneficiaries who have qualified High School and financial assistance of Rs 50,000 is provided to those beneficiaries who have a degree or diploma. In order to get the benefit of this scheme the annual family income should not exceed Rs 72000
Annai Therasa Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme for Orphan Girls-
The benefit of this scheme will be provided at the time of the marriage of orphan girls. Through this scheme, beneficiaries will be provided financial assistance of Rs 25000 if they have qualified for high school and financial assistance of Rs 50,000 if they have a degree or diploma. There is no income ceiling for availing benefit of this scheme
Dr Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme-
The benefit of this scheme is provided in the case of inter-caste marriage. Through this scheme cash assistance of Rs 25000 is provided out of which Rs 15000 is given as a direct benefit transfer and Rs 10000 in the form of a national saving certificate along with 4 gram 22-carat gold coin in order to make thirumangalam. The degree or diploma holders will get financial assistance of Rs 50000 out of which Rs 30000 will be given as a direct benefit transfer and Rs 20000 will be given as a national saving certificate with 4 gram 22-carat gold coin in order to make thirumangalam.
There is no income ceiling or minimum education qualification in order to get the benefit of this scheme. However, inter-caste marriage has been divided into two categories. In category 1, either of the inter-caste married couple should be from a Scheduled Caste or scheduled tribe while the other spouse can be from any other community. In category 2, either of the spouses should be from the forward or other community and another spouse from BC/MBC
