Main Objective of the Rajasthan Gas Cylinder Scheme

This scheme aims to provide cheap gas cylinders to BPL families and those with Ujjwala gas connections in Rajasthan. The government offers the cylinders at just Rs 500, with BPL recipients getting Rs 610 subsidy per cylinder and Ujjwala users getting Rs 410 subsidy transferred directly to their bank accounts.

This helps many families save money and adjust to rising LPG prices.

Subsidy Information

Under this plan, Ujjwala connection holders get Rs 410 subsidy per gas cylinder, while BPL card holders receive Rs 610 subsidy for each cylinder they buy. When you purchase a cylinder at the current market price of Rs 1106, the subsidy amount will be sent directly to your bank account linked with your Jan Aadhaar card.

Who Can Take Advantage?

  • More than 7.3 million families in Rajasthan will benefit from this scheme.
  • The state has over 1.75 crore gas connections with IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL.
  • Among these, about 69 lakh connections are under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, while more than 3.8 lakh connections belong to BPL families.

How the Payment Works

When buying a cylinder, beneficiaries must pay the full price upfront. After the purchase, the subsidy amount will be transferred to their linked bank account. For example, BPL families will get Rs 610, and Ujjwala beneficiaries will receive Rs 410 directly as subsidy.

Requirements to Get Subsidy

  1. Bank account linked with your Jan Aadhaar card.
  2. You must register or have a valid gas connection under BPL or Ujjwala categories.

If your bank account is not linked to the Jan Aadhaar card, you won’t receive the subsidy, so linking is important.
