Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAYG) is a government scheme created to help people in rural India get safe and good-quality homes. In the Union Budget 2024-25, the government planned to deliver 80 lakh affordable houses by 2025. It also allocated Rs 48,000 crore to speed up delayed housing projects. The minimum house size under PMAYG 2025 has been raised from 20 to 25 square meters for better living conditions.

PMAYG 2025 Subsidy and Loan Benefits
- Eligible beneficiaries can get loans up to Rs 70,000 from selected financial institutions.
- They also get an interest subsidy of about 3% on these loans.
- The maximum subsidy allowed on the principal loan amount is Rs 2 lakh.
- Subsidy on EMIs can be up to Rs 38,359.

- In Himalayan, Northeast states, and Jammu & Kashmir UT, the ratio is 90:10, with aid up to Rs 1.30 lakh per house.
- MGNREGS beneficiaries earn Rs 90.95 daily for unskilled work, helping with house construction.
- Gram Sabhas verify beneficiary details based on Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) data.
- An additional Rs 12,000 is given for permanent toilets and water tanks in every house, fully funded by the central government.
- All payments are made digitally, directly to bank or post office accounts linked with Aadhaar.
