This scheme officially started on 6 October 2024. It is also called the Prime Minister Mega Integrated Textile and Apparel (PM MITRA) Scheme. Under this scheme, 7 integrated textile parks will be built across India. These parks will combine spinning, weaving, processing, dyeing, printing, and garment manufacturing all in one place. This plan will bring big growth to the textile and manufacturing sectors.
The government has set aside ₹4,445 crore for this scheme. PM Mitra Yojana is based on the prime minister’s 5F model – Farm to Fiber, Fiber to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign markets. These textile parks will have world-class infrastructure to help Indian companies compete worldwide.
This scheme is expected to create 21 lakh jobs – 7 lakh direct and 14 lakh indirect. It will help increase production, exports, and attract investment to the textile sector.

Main Features of PM Mitra Yojana
- Textile parks will be created on both new (greenfield) and existing (brownfield) sites in different states.
- ₹500 crore will be spent to develop each new greenfield park.
- ₹200 crore set aside for brownfield park development.
- Each park will get ₹300 crore support to encourage manufacturing units.
- Total estimated cost for 7 parks is ₹17,000 crore.
- All parks will have an integrated system for better cooperation and sharing of resources.
- 50% of the park area will be for manufacturing, 20% for utilities, and 10% for commercial use.
