This scheme provides health insurance coverage of ₹4 lakh or ₹2 lakh and accident insurance coverage of ₹10 lakh or ₹5 lakh for journalists, photographers, and cameramen in Madhya Pradesh. They can choose the amount based on their needs. Along with the individual, spouses or children can join the insurance by paying extra premium. The insurance coverage lasts for one year.

For communication representatives up to 60 years old, the government pays 75% of the annual premium, and for those aged 61 to 70 years, it pays 85% of the premium. This helps make the insurance more affordable for beneficiaries.

  • Representatives from regular newspapers registered with RNI are eligible.
  • Cashless treatment is available at selected hospitals under the scheme, with insurance cards given to journalists.
  • Existing insurance policies expire on 3 October 2024; previously insured journalists must apply by 30 September 2024. New policies start from 4 October 2024.
  • Personal accident insurance covers death, total or partial disability caused by an accident.

Who Can Apply and Conditions for MP Patrakar Health and Accident Group Insurance Scheme

  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Communication representatives aged 21 to 70 are eligible, and previously insured journalists up to 80 years old can also apply.
  • Spouse, children (up to three unmarried), and parents can be included by paying extra premium.
  • Children up to 25 years of age are covered under this scheme.
  • The policy only covers the main insured person, not other family members.
  • Hospital stay of at least 24 hours is required except for certain specified diseases.
  • Room, boarding, and nursing expenses are covered up to 2% of the insured amount.
  • Dental treatment expenses are only covered if due to accidents.
  • Hospital admission must be reported immediately to the insurance company or TPA.
  • TPA handles claim-related work according to the policy.
  • Cashless facility is available at listed network hospitals; reimbursement is provided for treatment at non-network hospitals.

  • On the homepage, look for the “Nominate Yourself” section with two links: “Adhimanyata” (Priority) and “Gairadhimanyata” (Non-priority).
