The government has set aside Rs 448 crore for the financial year to fund 16 welfare programmes aimed at helping fishermen and fish farmers. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik highlighted how this yojana is a great chance to improve your financial situation.

In the last 20 years, fish farming in Odisha has grown four times. Marine products now bring in exports worth about Rs 4,500 crore. The state has also become self-sufficient in producing fish fingerlings. Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain spoke at the launch, along with other officials.
