Statistics
The state has roughly 53,845 communities, 32,562 of which are included in the central FRA network. Approximately 62 different tribal castes are represented in the state, 13 of which are Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). According to the 2011 census, there are about 9.5 million tribal people living in the state, making up 22.85% of Odisha’s total population. Nearly 35,739 square km of land in the state is occupied by this Tribal Population.

When the budget for the financial year 2024–2024 was announced, the state government of Odisha became the first to acknowledge the State Forest Rights Scheme. The Mo Jangal Jami Yojana has received a budgetary allocation from the state government of Rs 26 crore. The state legislature has approved funding for this budget where no role is played by the national government.
