Odisha Mission Shakti 2025
The Government of Odisha started Odisha Mission Shakti on 8 March 2001. It aims to provide financial help to women through their involvement in self-help groups (SHGs) and federations. These women get connected to banks and other financial organizations. This connection helps them take loans for self-employment.
Financial support comes in three forms: seed money, Mission Shakti loans, and revolving funds. This helps women start small businesses and improve their economic status. The government also works with banks to make banking easy and smooth for SHG members. For better management, a special Directorate of Mission Shakti operates under the Department of Women and Child Development.
Main Goal of Odisha Mission Shakti
This scheme mainly aims to help women financially through SHGs. It also supports building institutions, improving skills, and connecting women to markets. Women SHGs receive zero-interest loans up to Rs 300,000 under Mission Shakti loans if repaid on time. This support makes SHGs strong and independent, increasing women’s confidence and financial power.
