Started by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, this scheme supports farmers whose crops were ruined by drought. On October 29, the government declared drought in 22 districts and 226 blocks of the state. To help the affected farmers, the government will give Rs. 3500 as compensation.
Nearly 30 lakh farmer families in Jharkhand will get this financial aid directly in their bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). To receive this amount, farmers must register online. Approval by disaster management officials is needed before the payment is released.
Update as of 15th April: The list of 58,550 farmers from Deoghar district under Mukhyamantri Sukhad Rahat Yojana has been sent to the bank for payment.
The State Bank of India has received the list of beneficiary farmers through the district cooperative office. Each farmer will get Rs. 3500 soon as financial help. The government has told banks to release the payments quickly. It is expected that payments will show up in farmers’ accounts within a week.
Deoghar district cooperative officer Mahadev Murmu shared that so far, lists of 1,67,098 farmers have been sent to banks and 1,03,756 farmers have already received Rs. 49 crore in payments.
