Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana

Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana is a plan started by Haryana’s new Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini. The plan helps farmers who live in places where there is not enough water. It tells them not to grow rice (paddy), because rice needs too much water. Instead, it asks them to grow other kinds of crops that use less water. For every acre of land where farmers do this, the government gives ₹8,000 as a reward.

Under the Haryana government’s ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat’ scheme, farmers shifting from paddy cultivation to alternative crops like cotton, millet, guar, and moong will receive dual benefits, including an incentive of ₹8,000 per acre
