Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park Yojana 2025: Boosting Rural Jobs in Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel of Chhattisgarh is working to provide jobs to women, men, and youth in villages. One of his steps is the launch of the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park Yojana 2025. Through this scheme, selected village clusters called “Gauthans” will be developed into Rural Industrial Parks (RIPA), which will become centers for livelihood activities. Once fully developed, these parks will create jobs and income sources for poor families in rural areas, helping the people of the state find better employment.

Overview of Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park Yojana 2025

On October 2, 2024, which is Gandhi Jayanti, the Chief Minister launched this plan through video conferencing. In the first phase, 300 rural industrial parks were started across different districts. Each block will have two selected Gauthans developed into Rural Industrial Parks. The Panchayat and Rural Development Department is in charge of this scheme. This scheme will offer jobs and good income opportunities mainly to self-help group women and youth in rural areas, contributing to the growth of the state.

  • Two RIPA will be set up in each development block.

The main goal is to create jobs by setting up Rural Industrial Parks in the villages of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister said this scheme will bring Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of independent villages to life. Existing Gauthans in rural areas will be developed as centers where livelihood activities like vermicompost production, poultry, goat farming, and processing units for agriculture, horticulture, and minor forest products will operate. Other units like flour mills, pulse mills, and oil mills will also start here.
