Extra Subsidy Under Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana
The scheme also gives an extra subsidy of ₹1000 monthly to rural general category metered and flat rate agricultural consumers along with the current tariff subsidy. This extra help comes with conditions, such as: the subsidy applies to electricity bills issued after May; is released every two months based on billing; and only for eligible rural agricultural consumers. Farmers with no pending electricity dues will have the subsidy adjusted in their electricity bills. Paying bills on time is encouraged. If the subsidy is less than ₹1000 in a financial year, the remaining amount will be added in future months. New connections during the year get a pro-rata subsidy.
