J&K Ladli Beti Scheme is a supportive program run by the Jammu and Kashmir government to help girls born in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh after April 1, 2015. This scheme aims to improve the ratio of girls to boys in the population and support families so that the girl child is not seen as a financial burden after marriage. In this article, you will find all the important details about the scheme, including who can apply, the benefits, and how to submit your application.

Overview of J&K Ladli Beti Scheme 2025

The Ladli Beti Scheme was started by the Jammu & Kashmir BJP-led government and has been made easier to access through a fully digital platform. Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta introduced the e-service created by the National Informatics Centre, allowing applicants to apply online, track their application status, and get approvals digitally. This digital process makes things smoother and faster for applicants and the authorities involved.

Under this scheme, girls born on or after April 1, 2015, whose parents or guardians earn less than Rs 75,000 annually, can get financial support. Girls will receive about Rs 6.50 lakhs when they turn 21 years old. Meanwhile, until they reach 14, Rs 1000 per month is directly deposited into their bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

The scheme’s officials, including Child Development Protection Officers and District Programme Officers, carefully review applications within set time limits to make sure approvals happen smoothly. In the last three years, almost 1 lakh girls have already benefited from this scheme.
