Pause on Desh Ke Mentor Yojana
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has ordered an immediate stop to this scheme because of concerns about children’s safety. The commission worries there could be misuse or harm since the scheme connects students with unknown adults. The scheme started on October 11, 2024. NCPCR gave the first notice to the Delhi government on December 7, 2024. Delhi government replied on January 3, 2025, but after more concerns, NCPCR ordered the scheme to pause on January 11, 2025, until safety issues are fixed.
