Eligibility Criteria
To avail the benefit under the scheme, you should fulfill these eligibility criteria:
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Nagaland.
- Age Limit shall be 18-50 for general category households as per PMJJBY guidelines.
- All government servants are considered as breadwinners and will be provided life insurance coverage and the age limit shall be 18-60 for currently serving government employees.

Insurance Coverage Details
The scheme provides two types of coverage:
- CMHIS (EP): This Health Insurance Cover of Rs. 20 lakhs per year per family for regular government employees, pensioners getting medical allowance, and their dependents.
- CMHIS (GEN): This Health Insurance Cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per year per family for contractual & ad-hoc employees, non-dependent family members of CMHIS (EP), employees without PIMS number, accredited journalists, and any household not covered by CMHIS(EP) or the AB PM-JAY Scheme.

For the registration of CMHIS Beneficiary and Government Servants under the Chief Minister Universal Life Insurance Scheme, please follow the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Visit the CMLIS Nagaland Portal.
Step 2: On the homepage click on the “Register|Login” option.
Step 3: Those who have a CMHIS Card should select the “CMHIS CARD ID” option under Select Type.
Step 4: Enter the Card ID and click on the “Check PMJAY ID” button to verify eligibility.
Note: Verification Deadline is 5th September 2024.
Chief Minister Universal Life Insurance Scheme Registration for Non-Covered Families
Families who are not covered under CMHIS cards can register through the following:
- For Rural Areas citizens can register through NSRLM which stands for Nagaland Rural Livelihoods Mission which is Nagaland Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) is a registered Society under Society Registration Act, 1860 and Nagaland Societies Registration (Nagaland Third Amendment) Act, 2008 (Act No.1 of 2009).
- For Urban Areas citizens can register through the Offices of the DC/ ADC/ SDO/ EAC.
