The Athijeevanam Keraliyam Scheme includes five segments: Yuva Kerala Project, Connect to Work, EDP-K, ARISE, and KMEDP, all of which are set to benefit around 50,000 individuals this year, supported by a total budget allocation of Rs. 145 crore for Rebuild Kerala and an additional Rs. 20.50 crore for this specific project.

Components of Athijeevanam Keraliyam Scheme 2025

Yuva Kerala Project
The Yuva Kerala Project segment aims to provide job opportunities for 10,000 individuals. The state government has allocated approximately Rs. 60 crores for this initiative. This component focuses on individuals from underprivileged families aged between 18 to 35 years, with an extended age limit of 45 years for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Differently Abled (PH) individuals. The Yuva Kerala Project offers fully funded training, along with free transportation, accommodation, meals, uniforms, post-placement support, and guidance for a duration of one year.
Connect to Work (C2W)
The Connect to Work program emphasizes developing soft skills for youth from rural areas. Through this segment, the government will provide guidance to help connect these individuals with the job market. The aim is to train about 5,000 young men and women, linking them with employers that align with their educational qualifications and interests. An estimated budget of Rs. 5 crores has been designated for this initiative.
Kerala Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP-K)
The EDP-K segment targets initiating maximum entrepreneurship across selected blocks in the state. The program is set to generate approximately 16,800 new ventures in agricultural and non-agricultural sectors across 14 flood-affected blocks. The EDP-K will engage about 20,000 participants, offering loans up to Rs. 1 lakh for individuals and Rs. 5 lakhs for group ventures at a subsidized interest rate of 4%. The allocated budget for the EDP-K component is Rs. 70 crore.
Achieving Resilience and Identity Through Sustainable Employment (ARISE)
The ARISE program aims to offer training to the youth and Kudumbashree workers. Initiated in 2018-19, it was designed for individuals who lost their jobs due to floods. For the financial year 2024-25, around 10,000 work opportunities will be created under this component, with a budget allocation of Rs. 10 crores.
Kudumbasree Micro-Enterprise Development Program (KMEDP)
Under the KMEDP segment, approximately 3,000 individual enterprises and 2,000 group enterprises are expected to be initiated. The program provides support for Kudumbashree members and their families to start new ventures, benefiting around 10,000 individuals. Individual enterprises can undertake projects up to Rs. 2.50 lakhs, while group enterprises can receive support up to Rs. 10 lakhs. Training in this program is also provided at no cost, similar to other initiatives.
