Indira Gandhi National old age pension
Under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme pension is provided to old people who do not have any means of financial support. With the help of the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension scheme, the old people of the state are not required to be dependent on others for their daily needs. Previously Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme was managed by the social welfare department but now the responsibility is transferred to the local government. The municipality and corporations are responsible for accepting the applications, processing the application, and sanctioning the pension amount into the bank account of beneficiaries. There are three kinds of pensions under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme that are widow pension and disability pension. Indira Gandhi National disability pension is provided to mentally or physically challenged citizens of Kerala. This pension is offered to those citizens who do not have any kind of financial support.
