About Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana 2025
This scheme aims to increase interest in philately across India. Students from 6th to 9th grade studying in recognized schools can receive Rs. 500 per month (Rs. 6000 yearly) as a scholarship if they have good academic records and show an interest in philately. Each year, 920 students from all over India are chosen for this scholarship. Each postal division can select up to 40 students from grades 6 to 9, with 10 students from each grade. Who Can Apply for Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana
- Only students in classes 6, 7, 8, and 9 can apply.
- They must be enrolled in a recognized school in India.
- Membership in the school’s philately club is required.
- If the school doesn’t have a philately club, students with their own philately savings account may be considered.
- Students should have at least 60% in the previous year; SC/ST students should have a minimum of 55%.
How Students Are Selected
Winners are chosen based on their performance in philately-related projects or quiz exams held by postal divisions. A committee at the division level, including postal officials and expert philatelists, evaluates the projects. The project theme is announced by the postal circle when notifications go out.

- Selected students must open a joint bank account with their parents in India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) or Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) branches that offer core banking.
- Each postal circle selects students and sends the list to IPPB/POSB for scholarship payments.
- The scholarship amount is paid quarterly, Rs. 1500 each quarter, to the selected students.
