Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 is an important campaign by the Ministry of Women and Child Development taking place from 1st to 30th September 2025. This is the 6th National Nutrition Month focusing on “Women and Health” and “Children and Education”.
Minister Smriti Irani has shared that this year’s plan is to start “Poshan Panchayats” through village panchayats. These panchayats will focus especially on pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, children under six years old, and adolescent girls, raising awareness about nutrition. Local workers will lead awareness activities and work together with Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and ANM nurses to strengthen the campaign.

Overview of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025
The 6th National Nutrition Month has started across India under the Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan. This year, the Ministry plans to connect village panchayats as Poshan Panchayats and has prepared program series at this local level. Anganwadi centres will highlight the importance of rainwater harvesting among women and share knowledge about traditional nutritious foods, especially in tribal areas. State-level activities will include 5Amma6s Kitchen6 to promote traditional healthy dishes. Also, nationwide workshops will encourage local and traditional toys in Anganwadi centres to support early learning.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged all citizens in his Mann Ki Baat radio address to participate in Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025. The main aim is to turn this into a mass movement and fulfill the vision of a well-nourished India.

Started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on International Women6s Day, 8 March 2018, this campaign focuses on ending nutrition problems among pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, children under six, and adolescent girls. Main Goals of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025
This year6s Rashtriya Poshan Maah focuses on the themes “Women and Health” and “Children and Education.” The Ministry is organizing programs at the village panchayat level to raise nutrition awareness for the whole month. Identifying and reaching pregnant and breastfeeding women is a priority. Events and fairs for children under six years old will also be held. Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 supports Mission Poshan 2.0 which aims to improve nutrition delivery, access, and outcomes.
