Latest Update – Additional Financial Aid Announced

As of February 14, 2024, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a significant enhancement in the support amount under the Mamta Yojana. Previously, pregnant women received a total of Rs 5,000 in two installments; this has now been doubled to Rs 10,000. Starting in August 2024, all eligible beneficiaries will receive this increased amount, with the outstanding sum being accessible from February 20 to 25. This scheme supports all pregnant mothers over the age of 19 for their first two live births.

Maternity allowances will be distributed to women from 13 scheduled tribes for each pregnancy, as part of the government’s initiative. The financial aid will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of beneficiaries in two installments: Rs 6,000 after six months of pregnancy and Rs 4,000 after 10 months, benefitting around 60 lakh mothers since its inception. The total aid provided has reached Rs 2,900 crores, and beneficiaries can contact the helpline 181 for any queries or issues regarding the program.

Coverage of Odisha Mamta Yojana

The Odisha Mamta Yojana is operational in 28 districts of Odisha, except for Bargarh and Sundargarh. Women aged 19 and above who are either pregnant or lactating are eligible to benefit from this scheme for their first two live births. Employees of governmental/public sector organizations and their spouses are not eligible for this scheme. Installments under Odisha Mamta Yojana

Beneficiaries under the Odisha Mamta Yojana will receive a total of Rs 5000 in two installments based on the fulfillment of specific conditions:

First Installment: The first installment of Rs 3,000 is provided during the third trimester of pregnancy, contingent upon the following criteria:

  • Registration of pregnancy at Anganwadi center/Mini Anganwadi center
  • Completion of at least two antenatal check-ups
  • Receipt of IFA tablets
  • At least one TT vaccination received
  • Completion of one counseling session at AWC/village health and nutrition day/home visit

Second Installment: The second installment of Rs 2,000 is given after 10 months following delivery, upon meeting these criteria:

  • Childbirth registered at AWC or HSC
  • The child must receive the first dose of vitamin A before the age of one
  • The child must complete rotavirus vaccines 1, 2, and 3
  • Measles vaccination administered before the child turns one
  • Polio vaccinations 1, 2, and 3 received
  • BCG vaccination administered
  • Pentavalent vaccinations 1, 2, and 3 received by the child
  • Mother attends at least six growth monitoring and IYCF counseling sessions post-delivery
  • Child receives age-appropriate complementary feeding (self-certification)
  • Introduction to complementary food after six months (self-certification)
  • Child must be exclusively breastfed for the first six months (self-certification)

Application Procedure for the Odisha Mamta Yojana

  • To access the benefits of the Odisha Mamta Yojana, applicants must register at their respective Anganwadi centers.

  • Anganwadi workers are responsible for ensuring that every pregnant woman in the area is registered with the Anganwadi center and receives an MCP card.
  • Eligible women will be identified by the Anganwadi worker.
  • Beneficiaries must open a bank account with a bank that offers NEFT facilities.
  • Two photocopies of the bank passbook need to be submitted to the Anganwadi worker.
  • The Anganwadi worker will then provide the self-declaration form to the beneficiary in duplicate.
  • The beneficiary must fill it out, attaching two photos and a declaration from the husband/guardian.
  • Two photocopies of the Aadhar card and the MCP card should also be submitted.
  • The filled form should be returned to the Anganwadi worker without delay.
  • One set of submitted documents will be retained by the Anganwadi worker, while the other set must be submitted to the child development project officer.
  • After four months of pregnancy, the Child Development Project Officer will register the beneficiary under the Odisha Mamta Yojana online.
