Latest Update – Additional Financial Aid Announced
As of February 14, 2024, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a significant enhancement in the support amount under the Mamta Yojana. Previously, pregnant women received a total of Rs 5,000 in two installments; this has now been doubled to Rs 10,000. Starting in August 2024, all eligible beneficiaries will receive this increased amount, with the outstanding sum being accessible from February 20 to 25. This scheme supports all pregnant mothers over the age of 19 for their first two live births.
Maternity allowances will be distributed to women from 13 scheduled tribes for each pregnancy, as part of the government’s initiative. The financial aid will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of beneficiaries in two installments: Rs 6,000 after six months of pregnancy and Rs 4,000 after 10 months, benefitting around 60 lakh mothers since its inception.
