This scheme is specially made to help women from backward and minority communities in Andhra Pradesh. The government plans to give around 2.49 lakh units of sheep and goats for free. Each unit has 14 sheep or goats, which can help women earn money by selling milk or animals later. The government is investing about
51868.63 crore in this scheme to improve living standards for women beneficiaries.
Besides sheep and goats, there are plans to distribute 4.69 lakh units of cows and buffaloes with
53500 crore to boost the dairy sector. This is a big step towards supporting women’s independence and the rural economy.

Purpose of Jagananna Jeeva Kranthi Yojana
This scheme aims to offer business opportunities and self-employment to women, especially from backward classes. It is made to help them become financially independent. Women will get support to buy local sheep and goats with guidance from veterinary doctors, SERP officers, and banks, who will help them pick good animals at fair prices. Also, 31 lakh housing sites have been given to women registered in their names, showing the government’s focus on women’s welfare.
Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria
- Only women applicants can apply.
- Age should be between 45 and 60 years.
- Must belong to one of these groups: Backward Classes (BC), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), or minority communities.
