Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio launched the Chief Minister’s Universal Life Insurance Scheme (CMULIS) on August 15, 2024. This scheme provides free life and accidental insurance to families across Nagaland, offering financial support to those who need it most.
New Registration and Verification for CMULIS on cmlis.nagaland.gov.in Portal
Registration for the scheme started on August 15, 2024, and will continue until September 15, 2024. If you want to join, please check your details on the CMLIS website cmlis.nagaland.gov.in before September 5, 2024.
If your family is not part of the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), you can register with help from the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) in villages or by visiting offices like Deputy Commissioner (DC), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), or Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) in towns.

Main Features of CMULIS – Nagaland’s Chief Minister’s Universal Life Insurance Scheme
- Life Insurance: Families get Rs 2 lakh if the main earning member passes away.
- Accidental Insurance: Rs 2 lakh coverage each for the main earner and up to three family members in case of accidental death or disability.
Who Can Apply for CMULIS?
- Any indigenous or permanent resident household in Nagaland.
- State government employees, including casual and contract workers.
- Accredited journalists working in Nagaland.
Age Limits for Joining CMULIS
- General households: People aged between 18 and 50 years.
- Government employees: People aged between 18 and 60 years.
Usually, the head of the family shown in the CMHIS card is the breadwinner. Families not in CMHIS can choose someone else as the breadwinner.
How to Register or Check Your Status on cmlis.nagaland.gov.in?
For CMHIS Beneficiaries and Government Workers:
Go to https://cmlis.nagaland.gov.in and log in using your registered mobile number. The homepage will give options to login or register.
If you already have CMHIS, just log in using your mobile and password or OTP.
If you’re a new user, register with your CMHIS ID, PMJAY ID, or your mobile number.
After registering, log in here: https://cmlis.nagaland.gov.in/login and follow the steps to register or verify your details.
How to verify family members enrolled in CMULIS:
- Enter your CMHIS or PMJAY ID.
- Your registered mobile number will show up (for CMHIS users).
- Confirm the mobile number and request an OTP.
- Enter the OTP.
- Family member details and insurance coverage will appear.
- Check and confirm if details are correct by submitting.
- You can update the breadwinner, insured family members, and nominee details before final submission.

For Others Not Covered Under CMHIS:
- In rural areas, contact your NSRLM representative to enroll—no paper form needed.
- In urban areas, get the application form from DC/ADC/SDO/EAS offices or download it online. Fill it out and submit it in person or with help from officials.
