Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana is a new plan that will run for six years starting from 2025-26. It will help 100 districts in India. This plan is made to improve farming and related work like animal care and fishing. It is the first plan that focuses only on farming. The idea for this plan came from another program called the Aspirational District Programme by NITI Aayog, which works to make backward areas better.
PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana is not just another government plan. It brings together many other farming schemes and works in one strong system. It helps your area with better water, better seeds, better credit, and more storage. This scheme will touch every part of farming – from growing seeds to storing your crops safely at block or panchayat level.
What is Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana?
Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana is a new scheme launched by the Government of India to improve farming and support farmers, especially in 100 districts that have low crop production. This scheme will be implemented for a period of six years, starting from 2025-26.
The main goal of the scheme is to increase agricultural productivity, encourage farmers to grow a variety of crops, use sustainable and modern farming practices, and improve irrigation facilities. It also aims to create better storage systems for crops after harvest at the village and block levels, and to make it easier for farmers to get short-term and long-term loans.
To achieve these goals, the scheme will bring together 36 existing central government schemes from 11 different departments. It will also work with state government schemes and involve private companies as partners. The idea for this scheme is inspired by NITI Aayog’s Aspirational District Programme, which focuses on developing backward regions of the country.
