Overview of Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana 2025

The Rajasthan government started the Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana (SKAY) to promote local solar power plants. The government leases barren or unused land from farmers and sets up solar energy plants. Farmers get rent for their lands, giving them a chance to earn extra income by allowing solar plants on their land.

Farmers will get electricity supply for irrigation and also earn money by leasing their land. An online portal (www.skayrajasthan.org.in) lets farmers register to lease their land, and developers can also register to find lands for solar projects.

Energy Secretary Bhaskar A. Sawant reviewed the scheme’s progress and asked officials to work together so farmers can get the most benefits. (Source)

Goal of Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana

This plan aims to help farmers lease their barren land for solar energy projects with fixed rental charges and make use of large unused land areas. The government created a portal where farmers can register their land for lease and developers can find such lands. This will increase farmer income and produce solar energy locally for nearby areas, supplying enough power during the day for farming work.

Registration Fees for Solar Energy Plant

Farmers must pay a registration fee of Rs. 1180 to apply under SKAY. Developers need to pay Rs. 5900 for registration. Applications will be checked and land verified by the DISCOM office after fees and documents are submitted. A dedicated help desk will quickly resolve issues for farmers and developers.

Solar Plant Subsidy Details

Under SKAY, developers will get a subsidy of 30% of the total cost through the PM Kusum scheme to set up solar plants. The government will sign a tripartite agreement between landowners, developers, and DISCOM to protect everyone from risks. This will help increase solar power production, reduce pollution, and double farmer income.

How Many Farmers Registered on SKAY Portal?

Since the launch, over 34,621 users have visited the portal. 7,217 farmers have registered their barren land for solar plant installation, and 753 developers have registered too. Fourteen farmers and fourteen developers have paid the required fees. Alwar and Jaipur districts showed strong interest, with farmers completing land registration and document upload on the portal.
