Gujarat Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana 2025 was launched by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on August 10, 2024. This scheme supports farmers in Gujarat by offering compensation for crop losses caused by natural disasters. Under this scheme, the state government provides financial help to farmers facing 33% to 60% crop loss by giving compensation up to Rs. 20,000 per hectare, for a maximum of four hectares per farmer. If the crop loss is over 60%, the compensation rises to Rs. 25,000 per hectare for up to four hectares.

When Is Assistance Provided Under This Scheme?

  • Drought Conditions: If a district faces drought causing crop damage. This is considered when rainfall is below 10 inches or there is no rain during the monsoon season.
  • Excessive Rainfall: Help is given if heavy rainfall causes crop loss. Heavy rainfall means 35 inches of rain or continuous rain for 48 hours.
  • Unseasonal Rains: Compensation is provided if unseasonal rainfall damages crops, mainly if rainfall exceeds 50 mm between October 15 and November 15 in a 48-hour period.

Compensation Details

  • Farmers in Gujarat affected by natural disasters like drought, heavy rain, unseasonal rains, and floods will receive compensation.
  • For crop loss between 33% to 60%, compensation is Rs. 20,000 per hectare for up to four hectares.
  • If crop loss goes beyond 60%, compensation increases to Rs. 25,000 per hectare, up to four hectares.
  • Farmers don’t have to pay any premium to get this scheme’s benefits.
  • Farmers affected by floods or unseasonal rains from June to November can get compensation for crops on four hectares.
  • About 56 lakh farmers in Gujarat will benefit from this scheme.

Required Documents and Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.
  • Farmers facing natural disaster losses can get extra compensation from the State Disaster Response Fund.
  • Only registered farmers in the state are eligible.
  • Registration applies to all 8-A holder farmer account holders and those recognized under the Forest Rights Act.
  • The scheme covers the Kharif season of 2024, so crops should be sown during this season to receive benefits.
  • Documents required: Aadhaar card, identity proof, residence proof, mobile number, and a passport size photo.

How to Apply for Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana?

Farmers interested in this scheme will have to wait until the official online portal is launched. Right now, the portal for online applications hasn’t started. Once it is launched, you can apply through the official portal or via e-Gram centers. We will update you about how to apply once the website goes live.

Beneficiary List Preparation Process

  • The list of farmers eligible for the scheme is prepared by the state’s revenue department following a set process.
  • The District Collector prepares a list of villages or talukas where crops are damaged due to drought, heavy rain, or unseasonal rains.
  • This list is shared with the revenue department within 7 days.
  • A special survey team checks the crop damage within 15 days.
  • After the survey, the District Development Officer announces the list of beneficiary farmers.
  • Two beneficiary lists are made: one for crop loss between 33%-60% and another for more than 60% loss.

Summary of Beneficiary List Preparation

  • The District Collector compiles a list of farmers whose crops were damaged by drought, heavy rainfall, or unseasonal rains.
  • This list is sent to the revenue department within 7 days.
