Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Bal Kalyan Yojana 2025 Overview

This Madhya Pradesh government scheme gives a ₹5000 monthly pension to children whose parents or guardians passed away from Covid-19. The pension is given until the child turns 21. Besides the pension, children also get benefits for education and monthly ration. Those eligible include children whose parents died between 1 March 2024 and 31 July 2024, and only children who are permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh can apply. Every district has a six-member committee to manage this scheme.

Children whose parents passed away even two months after Covid treatment due to Covid-related reasons can also get benefits. The pension amount is directly paid into the child’s bank account.

This scheme aims to provide financial support to children whose parents or guardians died due to Covid-19. It gives a ₹5000 monthly pension until the child turns 21, so they can cover daily needs without relying on others. Besides that, free education and ration are also given to these children. It helps them become independent and supports their education and nutrition.

Each eligible child gets ₹5000 monthly. If the child is under 18, the amount is deposited jointly in their and the guardian’s bank account. After 18 years, the money goes directly to the child’s bank account.

Food Security Benefits

This scheme also provides free ration every month as per the National Food Security Act. District officers in Women and Child Development create lists of eligible families and give out eligibility cards, which are distributed by district food officers.

Education Support under Covid-19 Bal Kalyan Yojana MP

Free education from class 1 to degree level is part of this scheme. Classes 1 to 8 in government schools are free. Children in private schools from classes 9 to 12 get ₹10,000 per year. For higher studies in government-funded universities or colleges, exam fees and other yearly fees are waived. If studying in private universities, students get annual fees capped at ₹15,000 or the actual fees, whichever is less, paid directly to their account.

Care Facilities for Children Under 18

Children under 18 without guardians or housing support receive care for nutrition, education, medical needs, and protection from the child welfare committee. These children can stay in state-run child care homes but will not get monthly pension or ration. Once they turn 18, they get full benefits as per the scheme.

Applying is free. Eligible children or their guardians can apply on the official website. District officers check and submit applications online. A district-level committee including the district collector, health officer, education officer, and women & child development officer verifies and approves the forms.
