The Government of India offers ration cards to poor people so they can buy food items at cheaper prices. But many needy people still don’t have ration cards. To support homeless people, destitute individuals, migrants, and other eligible beneficiaries, the central government started a new scheme called Mera Ration Mera Adhikar. This scheme lets these people apply for ration cards online and get benefits under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).
Overview of Mera Ration Mera Adhikar Yojana 2025
This scheme helps homeless, destitute, migrants, and other eligible people get ration cards if they couldn’t get one before. On 5 August 2024, the central government started a common registration facility under this scheme for 11 states and union territories: Assam, Goa, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Punjab, Tripura, and Uttarakhand. In just 25 days from 5 August to 31 August 2024, over 13,000 people registered for ration cards.
The main goal is to quickly identify eligible beneficiaries so they can receive food security benefits under NFSA at nfsa.gov.in.
