Objective of the YSR Aarogyasri Scheme

Revamp of YSR Aarogyasri Scheme
Initially launched in 2017, the scheme has undergone substantial changes with a new version introduced by the current Chief Minister, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, in January 2024. This revamped scheme will incorporate additional diseases and enhance the quality of healthcare services available to beneficiaries.
Changes Under YSR Aarogyasri Scheme
Significant amendments have been made, such as expanding the list of participating hospitals, including select institutions in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Furthermore, assistance will be provided for medical expenses exceeding ₹1000, with over 2000 diseases now covered under the scheme.
Eligibility Criteria for Dr YSR Aarogyasri Scheme
- The applicant must own less than 35 acres of land.
- Families must have a municipal property tax of less than 3000 SFT (334 sq. yards).
- Outsourced, contract, and part-time workers with an annual income over ₹5 lakh can apply.
- Honorary or private sector employees in public institutions are also eligible.
- Having more than one car disqualifies the applicant.
- Families with an income tax filing up to ₹5 lakh qualify for the scheme.
