On 27 July 2024, the Uttarakhand government approved the Uttarakhand Udayman Chatra Yojana. This scheme gives grants to students who pass the preliminary exams of the Central Public Service Commission as well as the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC). Only 100 students who clear the UKPSC prelims will get this help, while all students who pass the Central PSC prelims are eligible. Each selected student will receive a grant of ₹50,000.
The main goal is to motivate students to focus on the main exams by giving them financial support. The money will be sent directly to the student’s bank account. Only permanent residents of Uttarakhand can use this scheme, and it’s required to submit the preliminary exam marksheet to apply.
