How KALIA Scholarship Works
- Apply online through the common scholarship portal.
- Managed by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment.
- False claims will lead to cancellation of the scholarship.
- State and district committees oversee and suggest improvements.
- Fees including tuition, annual, one-time, and hostel charges paid by students will be refunded to their bank accounts via direct benefit transfer (DBT).
- Mobile fees or caution money are not covered.
- Hostel/mess support is Rs 1200 per month for hostellers and Rs 1000 per month for day scholars for 10 months.
Scholarship Disbursement and Application Process
- Announcements are made in local newspapers and online; no physical applications are accepted.
- Apply through the online portal using Aadhaar or unique ID with password and captcha.
- Keep a copy of your submitted application.
- You must confirm your parent is a KALIA Yojana beneficiary and you are not getting another scholarship (or are ready to switch to KALIA Scholarship).
- Fill and get your application validated online by your college principal or head.
- Scholarship amounts are transferred only to active bank accounts with electronic clearing or core banking facilities in the applicant’s name.
- Applications not verified by the institute on time will be invalid.
Role of Head of Institution
- Heads get login details to verify applications online.
- They check the student’s details and confirm no other scholarship is being used.
- They verify the parent’s name with official documents like the high school certificate.
- Confirm if the student is a day scholar or lives in hostel.
- Forward verified applications to the Chief District Agriculture Officer.
- If there are duplicates, only one application is considered.
- Scholarship renews automatically if the student maintains good performance.
Chief District Agricultural Officer Responsibilities
- Receive login details to manage scholarship verification.
- Confirm parent is a KALIA beneficiary.
- Disburse scholarship funds to student accounts after verification.
Director of Agriculture and Food Production Duties
- Prepare reports and monitor application processing at all levels.
- Manage funds, approvals, and administrative tasks.

- On the homepage, click on “Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment”.
- Choose your category: General, SC, ST, OBC/SEBC, or EBC.
- Enter your Aadhaar number/unique ID, password, and captcha, then sign in.
- Fill out the scholarship form with required details and upload documents.

How to Register on the Portal
