Names of 24 Lakh Absent Students Removed from List
There was a delay in payments due to issues in preparing the attendance list. Students who were absent for many days were removed from the beneficiary list. The task of uploading attendance to the Megha Soft system was slow at first, and later the NIC took over to complete it.
Amount Given Under Bihar Cycle Poshak Yojana
This scheme only benefits students studying in government schools of Bihar. Scholarship, uniform allowance, and bicycle amounts are given at different levels.
For students from classes 1 to 8, Rs. 600 is given for uniforms. For students of classes 9 to 12, Rs. 1,200 is provided for the uniform. Additionally, only students of class 9 receive money for a bicycle.
The government has been preparing for this for a long time, and payments are expected to begin next week for the cycle and uniform allowance.
Only Students with 75% Attendance Will Get Benefits
Schools submit applications for the scheme. If you have 75% or more attendance in your school, your name will be sent for the benefit. The attendance list of students with 75% or more attendance has been uploaded on the NIC website. Bicycles will be given to class 9 students, and uniform and scholarship amounts to classes 1 through 12.
The Secondary Education Department has made it clear that only students with 75% or higher attendance are eligible. Around 1.75 crore students are enrolled from classes 1 to 12. It is estimated about 1.5 crore students will get the benefit this year.
