Formation of E-Cards for Beneficiaries

Under the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana, beneficiaries can receive medical treatment at over 200 government and 767 private hospitals at no cost up to Rs. 5,00,000 per annum. Recently, a meeting held on 6 February 2024 led by Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans addressed the production of e-cards for eligible beneficiaries, emphasizing the inclusion of blue cardholders, small traders, farmers, and journalists.

  • The meeting concluded that eight mobile teams will collaborate with various departments to help create these e-cards.

Understanding Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana Benefits

Residents with smart ration cards, registered laborers, recognized farmers, and small traders are eligible for this scheme, which offers cashless treatment up to Rs. 5,00,000. Beneficiaries must apply for a health card at service centers, costing Rs. 30.

Service Centers for E-Card Registration

E-card registration will commence on different dates at service centers:

  • Type 1 Centers from February 17
  • Type 2 Centers from February 22
  • Type 3 Centers from February 26

Timing for card creation is from 9 AM to 9 PM on all working days. For more information, residents can contact the Health Department helpline at 104. Currently, 1,29,274 cards have been issued, and efforts are ongoing to extend coverage.

  • Coverage includes expenses incurred three days prior and fifteen days post hospitalization.

  • NFSA Ration Card Holders: 14.86 lakh under SECC and 20.43 lakh Smart Ration Card Holders.
  • Construction Workers: 2.38 lakh construction workers affiliated with the welfare board.
  • Small Traders: 46,000 families registered under the Excise and Taxation Department.
  • J-Form Farmers: 4.94 lakh J-Form holder farmers recognized by the Punjab Mandi Board.
