Karnataka Skill Connect Portal – The first portal in the nation, the Skill Connect Portal, was recently launched by the Karnataka government to connect job seekers and companies through virtual job fairs in honour of World Youth Skill Day. The state government established an “Industry Linkage Cell” in addition to the portal to offer skills and employment in accordance with occupational demand through industrial training partners under the “Industry Connect Program.”

Features of Karnataka Skill Connect Portal 2024
- Five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed at the time of the launch of the Karnataka Skill Connect.
- Agreements were signed between the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Infosys, the Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC) and Toyota Kirloskar, the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), and the ITIs and Ubuntu.
- More than 20,000 candidates will be connected with companies through massive job fairs under the “Sarvarigoo Udyoga (Jobs for All)” programme, while the “Skill Connect Portal” attempts to connect job seekers with employers in virtual job fairs.
- Students are receiving the necessary and in-demand skill training through these programmes, preparing them for their futures and the advancement of the state.

- Regarding future skills, as part of the talent acceleration programme, final year BE/BCA students received future skill training from the information technology and biotechnology departments, solid waste management and driving training from the panchayat raj department, and self-employment and self-reliance training from the police department for prisoners.
- Skill training is offered by SIDAC, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Higher Education, the Department of Health and Family Welfare, and the Department of Primary and Secondary Education.
- The learning management system (LMS) has placed a strong emphasis on creating future capabilities in conjunction with organisations, including artificial intelligence, robots, data analytics, and the Internet of Things.
- 150 ITIs have been transformed to technology hubs and the Karnataka government is upgrading a total of 150 ITI colleges in the state at a cost of about Rs 4500 crore. 23 future skill development courses in areas like robotics, IoT, and artificial intelligence have been established here.
Around 25,000 Applicants are getting Training
Under the hire train deploy model, approximately 25,000 candidates are being trained and employed as per their skill requirements in tie-up with 22 private industries. “In this regard, the government has launched a unique skill connect portal for the first time in the country, the skill-connect portal and job fairs.

How to Search Job on the Skill Connect Portal
- Go to the official website of Skill Connect.
- On the home page, you will see two text boxes.
- Enter Skill, Designation and Companies in one box and location in another box.
- Press Search Job option.
Employer Registration
