This UAN allows them to get access to various social security benefits. The new and improved version, called e-Shram 2.0, is made to connect information from different social welfare schemes.

Why is this good? Because there are about 300 million unorganized workers in India who can benefit from this! So far, 12 schemes from various Central Ministries and Departments are linked to the e-Shram Portal. But that’s not all, more schemes will be added in the future to help even more people.

This will help generate unique IDs for each worker, providing crucial data on the number of platform workers in India, currently estimated at 20 million. To apply online for E Shram Card 2.0, please follow the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1: Visit the Official E Shram Website.

Step 2: On the homepage click on the “REGISTER on eShram” option and the “Self Registration” form will appear on your screen.

Step 3: Please enter your mobile number, complete the Captcha, and select “No” for both options.

Step 4: Click the “Send OTP” button, enter the received OTP in the designated field, and then click the “Submit” button.

Step 5: On the next page, enter your Aadhaar number, agree to the terms and conditions, and then click the “Submit” button to continue.

Step 6: You will receive another OTP; enter it in the designated field and then click the “Validate” button to proceed.

Step 7: “REGISTRATION FORM” will appear on your screen.

Step 8: Fill out the registration form with the required details such as Personal Information, Address, Educational Qualification, Occupation and Skill, Bank Account Details, and Preview Self Declaration.

Step 9: Once the filled form appears on your screen, review the information carefully. At the bottom of the page, check the consent box, and then click the “Submit” button to complete the registration process.

Step 10: The E Shram Card will be displayed on your screen, featuring your Universal Account Number (UAN) on the card.
